I don't believe it!

I've been a bit busy poeting lately so I haven't written much on here lately, plus I was a little stunned by the election result and have only just managed to start coming out of the fugue of disbelief I fell into last week. I can't believe it's been a week since the election and that Christmas Day is only 6 days away, time flies when you're having fun.

I'm not saying anything about the election since this isn't a political blog so I'll try to move on with other thoughts.

I've had my first rejection from a literary magazine so I now feel like a real writer. That's just a minor setback though, I will keep on and eventually someone will decide that my work is good enough to publish. I see that attitude as progress since not so long ago I would have thrown my hands in the air and given up. Things have changed now, I refuse to be daunted and will remain positive.

I have been a bit remiss about updating my short stories though, so I will concentrate on moving them along. Bob West and Dangling Albert deserve more attention than I have afforded them lately. I decided that West goes West should be a series of short stories rather than one book, although I might change my mind again.

Dangling Albert on the other hand was always going to be a series of short stories about the misadventures of a bungling drunkard living his life from one close shave to the next. He got his name from the first story about him which culminated in him dangling by his fingertips from a rocky ledge after a misguided attempt at fell walking in the Lake District. Last time I saw him he was sitting in a pub with one of his pals about to embark on another moderately disastrous escapade, although he is blissfully unaware of that as we speak.

So on that note I'll wish a Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it and a Happy New Year to all.

Peace and love, ttfn
