I'm trying.

Very trying, some might say but that's not important right now.

I was thinking last night that I haven't been putting enough effort into keeping this blog up to date and was considering why that might be.

Having thought about the reasons why I have been so lax about adding posts I came up with the following:

1. The world is such a shit-show just now that I find it hard to think of anything whimsical to write.

2. I don't want to bore people with a litany of political complaints about the afore-mentioned shit show.

3. The blog doesn't seem to reach a very wide audience so I feel like I'm talking to myself and may as well just concentrate on my personal journal.

I suppose the answer to point 3 is to write more regularly and look for the positives that are still around so that I can highlight them and make my content more interesting. Also produce better poetry and more short stories and try to get paid for them so that I can upgrade this site and get a domain name. This will broaden my exposure and make the whole thing look more professional.

As to points 1 and 2, there's not much I can do about the state of the world. What I can do is try to brighten people's lives with entertaining tales and good poems while also producing blog posts which bring the lighter side of life to the fore.
