On the horns of a dilemma.

I heard back from the publisher about the poems I submitted. They like them and have offered me a contract. But, and it's a big but they want me to sign a contributory contract which basically means they want me to pay them.

Since the idea of my taking up writing as a job is to make money I very much doubt my sales are likely to cover the cost any time soon.

With this in mind, and since it's early days yet, I'm inclined to say thanks but no thanks and look for a publisher who will pay me.

I'll keep you informed of developments.

Peace and Love
