Sunny Bank Holiday

I can't think of a better way to spend a sunny bank holiday than to sit at my computer searching sources of funding to help supplement my pension income so that I can improve my poetry writing skills and become good enough to be published. If I do get published I'm going to donate half of any profits to mental health charities.
Good mental health means a lot to me since I've suffered from depression and anxiety most of my life. For a long time it was un-diagnosed, I just thought I was short tempered, shy and miserable. Turns out they were just the physical manifestations of my problems so that now, with good drugs and a project to occupy my mind I'm feeling much better. The surges of anger have gone and I look at life with a little bit more optimism than before.
I've also started crowdfunding with the hopes of raising some money for expenses such a subscriptions, improve this website, travel to poetry events, and to donate to mental health charities. The link is at the top of the home page if anyone is feeling generous. I have 20% of my target so thanks to the kind person who has donated already.
The poems I write don't necessarily follow the rules of poetry writing, I just put down what comes into my head. This means that sometimes they'll be good and sometimes not so good. They are, however a true reflection of my thoughts and feelings, unfiltered by too much editing or revision.
I will stick the odd one on here now and then and will keep on trying to get published, not an easy task I know.
So now I'm off to take my bread out of the bread maker and stare out of the window awaiting inspiration.
Peace and Love xx
