Two hairs past a freckle

Today, someone asked about the term "one freckle past a hair" because their husband used it and she had no idea what he was on about. I know "two hairs past a freckle" as the answer to a person asking what the time is when you don't know or aren't wearing a watch. Someone would say "what time is it?" You would then look at your wrist and say "it's two hairs past a freckle" then they would likely roll their eyes at you and stomp off to ask a normal individual.

This is one of those expressions which seems to have faded into the mists of time. A bit like "what do you think your on? Your granny's yacht" for someone who is being pretentious or overly demanding. I'm sure there are loads more which have gone the way of all things and are now forgotten but which would add a bit of colour to life's interactions, and maybe lighten the mood a little in a world that seems to have lost its sense of humour and is perpetually angry.

If I come across or remember any more I'll come back with an update. Until then, be kind. Peace and love x
